Jim’s path to locksmithing started with his brother. When his brother got into trouble in high school, their father bought him a correspondence course in locksmithing. His brother became a pipefitter. Jim kept the course — and never looked back.
That decision in the 1970s launched a career that has supported Jim through college, through raising a family, and through some of the most meaningful work of his life. Over five decades, he has worked with some of the best locksmiths in the industry, trained over 25 professionals, and earned an MBA that he applies to running his business with the same precision he brings to every lock. He has seen it all — from elderly customers locked out in the cold wearing only a bathrobe, to large companies with over 500 employees upgrading their entire security infrastructure.
Jim operates by a simple standard: give honest estimates, do the job right the first time, and charge nothing if you cannot help. That last part is not a marketing line — it is a policy. As Jim puts it: ‘I never got a participation trophy. If I do nothing, I charge nothing.’
